A gentle monthly offering, sharing the custom pieces created behind the scenes - each one telling a rich and wonderful story.
Our May edition features a truly special piece: a custom circle signet ring created for one of our most loyal, long-time customers.
Originally, the idea was to design a birthstone ring representing her family of four - herself, her husband, and their (adorable) son and daughter. While birthstone rings are always rich in sentiment, sometimes the colour combinations just don’t quite work, especially in rose gold. In this case, the palette felt too mismatched to truly capture the beauty of the piece.
So instead, I suggested a more personal approach - one I’ve had tucked up my sleeve for years: choosing stones based on each family member’s eye colour. This simple shift adds a deeply intimate touch, turning the ring into something completely one-of-a-kind and entirely customer-led.
The base of the design was a solid 9ct rose gold circle signet. We then set a princess-cut smoky quartz, an oval alexandrite, and two generous round champagne diamonds - each representing the windows to the soul of her family. With a little extra space and budget, we added a tiny peridot on the band to mark November, the month of her wedding - a subtle but meaningful detail.
The result: a beautifully sentimental, highly personal ring, and an absolute joy to bring to life. See the final piece via our Instagram here.
